This Pikey trek is a newly opened trekking route which takes you to the height of Pikey Peak, a view point in lower Everest region. The name Pikey is derived from the name of a Sherpa Clan deity.

Pikey Peak Trekking Route

Pikey Peak trekking follows the different villages of Sherpa people with many Buddhist Monasteries. Among them Thupten Chholing is one of them. The locals preforms different celebrations and worship their clan god in the month of July. In august many worship and religious programs are perform.

Pikey Danda is the major highlights of this trek from where you can enjoy the majestic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam and many mountains of Mahalangur Himalayan range. Besides these, you will enjoy the glorious sights of many peaks beyond the Kathmandu valley along with Annapurna, Manaslu and Langtang Himalayan ranges in the western part.

Pikey trekking itinerary provides amazing views of the Numbur Himal range and Everest to the north. It offers the best views of Everest in Nepal which you can see for yourself when you join. This is short trekking route which is possible by both flight and jeep. You don’t need to worry for the trekking difficulty level.

When to Go for Pikey Trek?

Like the Everest Base Camp trek, Gokyo Lake trek and Everest three high passes, this trekking is best in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December) season. The sunrise and sunset view from the Pikey peak is world famous. Pikey danda (Peak) is considered as one of the best sightseeing place in Nepal. You will see the major five 8000m peaks from the hill top.

Trekking Style

As pikey peak trekking is newly opened trek route, hotels and lodges are not well developed. However small lodges are developing. So Pikey trekking is possible by camping, by staying in lodges and by staying in a locals home-stay. You can plan you trek as per your interest and budget.

<p>Fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu airport (2470m) and trek to Salleri 2390m- 5 Hours. Stay overnight at lodge.</p>

<p>Trek from Salleri to Kerung to Pattale (2840m)- 7 Hours. Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>After breakfast, trek from Pattale to Jhapre 2820m, takes about 6 Hours, Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak (4065m) it takes about 6 hours, Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>Trek from Pikey Danda to Junbesi village (2700m) 5 hours, Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>Trek from Junbesi to Thupten Chholing and trek back to Junbesi. Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2470m) – 6 Hours. Stay overnight at home-stay/lodge.</p>

<p>Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes. Overnight at Hotel.</p>
